SHARKS LIFT THE CURRIE CUP RUGBY TROPHY October 28, 2008

What a wonderful day for the Sharks and their faithfull supporters! They beat the Bulls 14-9 to win the coveted trophy after a 12 year drought.

The Bulls’ captain Victor Matfield said: “The Sharks were awesome. They were really motivated in front of that fantastic crowd.”

The Sharks scored two wonderful tries, the first by Ruan Pienaar and the second by Francois Steyn, but this was a real team effort. If one considers that the referee wanted to send Francois off to the blood  bin as he had blood on his face, but he stood his man and asked the referee to allow him to take the penalty kick before going to the blood bin. The referee allowed him to take the kick, which he missed, but the Sharks managed to get the ball during that movement and Francois ended up scoring the try, only then did he go to have his face seen to.

Frederic Michalak the French player who joined the Sharks for the season had the following to say about the occassion:

“Durban and the Sharks have changed my life,”

“South Africans of all cultures, black, white, English and Afrikaans, opened their hearts to me. My time here has been very special indeed. I was very anxious to repay the Sharks by making a good contribution in the final.”

“There is no place like this in rugby,” Michalak said, pointing to the celebrations on the outer fields. “I am just so happy that I could experience this.”

Michalak said the occasion of the Currie Cup final was probably the finest he had experienced in rugby.

Michalak turned in an assured performance as he emulated his compatriot Thierry Lacroix by wearing the number 10 jersey in a Sharks’ Currie Cup win.

One of my favourite players, Stefan Terblanche, had a wonderful game and I just wonder why he was left out of the Springbok squad once again, he has such flair for the game and did not falter under the high up and unders he was bombarded with all afternoon. Look howmany times he was nearly taken out by the Bulls players, but he just got up and continued as if nothing happened to him. Well done Stefan, there is many a rugby supporter who is sad not to see your name on the Springboks list.

ANC FOLLOWERS LOVE TO THREATEN TO KILL OPPOSITION October 24, 2008

We are willing to KILL for Zuma!………..  KILL Lekota! …….  So anybody who does not agree with the ANC should be killed!

What message does this send to the outside world? The ANC is not in control anymore, their members can say and do what they like without being stopped by the ANC. Who are they going to threaten next?

The Zuma bomb (see my previous post) has not gone off yet, if he is prosecuted we are in for  dark times, because if his supporters go on a rampage many people can die.

Lekota and many other ANC members have broken away from the ANC and are going to form a new opposition party and of course the ANC and their supporters do not like it!

HIV/AIDS ……MURDER OR MANSLAUGHTER? October 20, 2008

If a person is diagnosed HIV positive and then willingly has sex with another person without advising the person of his/her HIV status and also does not take preventative measures to ensure that the virus is not spread to the other person, should this person be charged with murder or manslaughter ?

The reason why I have been pondering this matter is because of the fact that here in South Africa there are millions of our black citizens who have been diagnosed HIV positive and are receiving treatment for this disease.

When they are questioned about their condom usage more than 70% say that they either “never” use condoms or that they “sometimes” use condoms. Their culture does not frown on multiple sex partners from a very young age, therefore if one person is infected they can infect countless others.

Maybe we should lobby for the offenders to be charged with murder or manslaughter if they infect innocent people in this way.

I know it will be difficult to prove who had sex with who, but maybe scare tactics could be used at all the clinics in the country who could then advise the HIV positive people that they “could” be prosecuted maybe they will then use the FREE condoms they have been given by the clinics!

If only!!! I can dream I suppose!

GLOBAL FINANCIAL WHIRLPOOL CONTINUED October 16, 2008

On 26 September I wrote a post about the global financial whirlpool and I did not have to wait too long to see that my prediction was accurate!

How many billions of dollars, yen, pounds, euro’s, etc have been thrown into this whirlpool and guess what? it is not helping. The more they put into the global financial markets the more they are causing people to doubt the whole financial structure and the financial markets are continuing to fall.

I think tomorrow (17 October, 2008) there will be a huge bloodbath on the various stock exchanges as shareholders try to offload before the weekend.

I wonder how the South African economist, who said that this would not affect South African markets, is feeling at the moment when he sees that our JSE index has dropped from approx 32000 to 20096 and our Rand has devalued by a huge percentage where one British pound can buy 18 Rands where only a few days ago it could buy 14 Rands.

This is good news for our exporters but very bad news for all products we have to import, which includes oil!

British satire at its best a very simple, graphic, yet accurate explanation of why the whole system is collapsing. This is very funny, too. Go to the link below to enjoy this 8 minute satirical interview:

 http://brasschecktv.com/page/187.html

(Oh, and by the way, apparently it was Clinton and his Liberal socialist cronies who introduced the silliness of Sub-Prime mortgaging – to grab votes from the likes of those described in the video.)

I hope you enjoy this and I give thanks to AfricanCrisis for posting this first where I copied the link from.

Consumer activists have praised ABSA Bank, a leading retail bank, for implementing some of the recommendations of the Competition Commission’s inquiry into banking charges.

Read Barry Bateman’s full report on this story here:

We can only hope that this will force the rest of the banks in South Africa to follow suit.

ANC DIVISION CONTINUES October 5, 2008

“Former defence minister Mosiuoa Lekota has given the clearest hint yet that he might divorce the ANC, an organisation which he no longer recognised and whose practices he believed had become dangerous to democracy” writes Angela Quintal of IOL Online.

Lekota has written an open letter to the ANC and Jeff Radebe of the ANC answered the letter in the press and he was not very complimentary to Lekota and “his cronies”.

“Remember that the ANC as an institution will stay forever while individuals like yourselves will go.” Radebe said. What is the old adage?: Never say never!

Read the two letters here:

 http://www.iol.co.za/index.php?set_id=1&…

The ANC thinks that they will remain in power for ever in view of the large majority they have in the black vote, but what they do not seem to realise is the fact that these voters are getting more and more disenchanted with the way the ANC is running this country into the ground.

The corruption in high places are not dealt with properly, the crime is escalating and the promises of housing, clean and safe drinking water, electricity for every household and job creation, etc have not materialised, so why must they continue to vote for this administration?

If the splinter group in the ANC break away and forms a new opposition party then the majority voters will be divided and this can cost the ANC dearly.

This together with the death rate amongst the black nation will swing the pendulam against the ANC!
