OBAMA’S HISTORIC INAUGURATION January 20, 2009

I decided to watch the American inauguration ceremony for the first time in my life partly due to my recent behind the scenes tuition by Relax Max and partly because I knew it certainly was an historic moment in the history of USA and felt that I should view it.
I learnt a lot about the American history and its past President’s and their pride in their country.
After seeing how the American citizens overcame huge obstacles to travel to Washington, walk a long way to The Mall, withstand bitter cold and be willing to stand for so long just to be part of this moment in their history, I understood how important the inauguration was to them and that the majority did not care how much was spent on it, they came for a message of hope from their new President and he did not fail them.
Time will tell whether he can galvanize them into action to rise up and overcome because he said: “We must pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and begin again the work of remaking America.”
The ball is very much in the court of each and every citizen in America to rise to the occasion and prove him right when he stated: “We have chosen hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord.”
We say goodbye to George W Bush and welcome to Barack H Obama and wait to see what legacy he will leave America.

My American friends are probably going to shoot me down when they read this post, but I still cannot see the point in spending over $130 million on President elect Obama’s inauguration in this present economic climate we are living in.
When we see the images of people suffering all over the world and in America one would really think that they would scale down the spending on this inauguration. Yes he is popular worldwide and everyone wants to be part of this historic occasion, but does it have to be so elaborate?
Call me cynical, but I cannot help seeing it as a waste of money!

“Go back to basics” I advised, encourage manual labour in various industries and guess what? That is exactly what Obama has said that he intends to do.

When I hear a woman say: “My children come first” I cannot believe it, that is why so many marriages fail.
The order in each woman’s life should be first her God, then her husband and then her children. If she does not ensure that her husband is happy, well looked after and fulfilled then she does not have a solid foundation for her marriage. If you have a happy husband you will also have a happy family life.
So many women concentrate too much on their children and their needs and they forget that their husbands also has needs.
As her husband will be President of USA Michelle will see less of him than they are both used to, so both of them will have to make time to spend together to keep the marriage strong.
I hope they wil find a good balance!
